If I could only recommend you try ONE product this year – L’Oreal’s Mythic Oil would be it. It truly is fantastic and has worked with my bleached hair. I’ve been using the original Mythic Oil for a few months now – and It’s worked wonders with just a few pumps into my wet hair leaving it soft and smooth after a blow dry and straighten. So, when L’Oreal asked if I’d like to give the three new oils joining the range I was more than happy to give them a go.
The product I was most interested in was the Rich Oil – designed for especially unmanageable hair by providing ‘intense nourishment’. In terms of application – I found it to be essentially the same as the original oil. It is a thick oil – however it absorbs into hair very quickly. I’m currently using around 5 pumps of rich oil on each side of my hair, rubbing it in to the ends only. I use another quick pump after blow drying and straightening my hair to lock in moisture and seal the ends. I then follow up with a few spritzes of the Reinforcing Milk all over – a finishing mist designed to provide shine and frizz protection. The end result? Smoother, shiner, softer hair than that achieved with the Mythic Oil alone.
Now – I don’t know about you, but in my book smooth, shiny, & soft hair is a big win… which is why I don’t think this product will be ever leaving my regular line-up of hair care products!
Here’s a break down of each of the four oils in the range:
Mythic Oil Strengthening Milky Mist (for all hair types) – Enriched with strengthening royalactin from royal jelly and regenerating Passiflora oil from the passion tree – with incredibly light nourishing properties. This mist provides all hair types with texture, body and strength without weighing it down. Can also be used as a finishing product to deliver shine and softness.
Mythic Oil Colour Glow (for colour treated hair) -Enriched with linseed oil known for its illuminating and antioxidant properties, and protective cranberry oil, known for its nourishing properties. Colour glow also includes a UV filter to help protect hair colour and keep it vibrant. Provides coloured hair with nutrition, shine and protection. Use as a construction or finishing product.
Mythic Oil Rich Oil (for unruly hair) – Contains regenerating rice bran oil, known for its intensely nourishing and regenerating properties and argan oil, known for its deep nourishing and disciplining properties. Offers benefits similar to the original oil, but steps it up a notch by providing deep nutrition, shine, immediate discipline and long-lasting frizz protection. Use as a construction product, or finishing product.
